All material (stories, images, graphics, etc.) contained in this publication is the property of the Decaturian/The Dec Online. Requests for permission to reprint should be sent to the Editorial Board.
As a service to our readers, a commenting feature has been added to comment on articles and respond to the comments of others. Currently, the editorial staff of the Decaturian/The Dec Online does not moderate comments, and submissions made through the comment form should (barring any unforeseen technical problems, for which we accept no personal liability) display immediately on the site. Profanity is, however, censored through a software filter for the benefit of our general reading public, and comments are limited to 500 characters (including formatting tags).
Our policy is generally laissez-faire; we believe in the First Amendment and every individual's right not to be censored. However, as a media source, we must also balance professional obligations. While we will not remove content that is controversial or taboo, we reserve the right to remove any content that is libelous, sexually explicit or graphic, or otherwise defamatory. The Decaturian/The Dec Online accepts no responsibility for opinions made through the commenting feature.
A valid E-mail address is required for all comments. If an E-mail address is found to be falsified, we reserve the right to remove that content on the basis of fraudulent information. This requirement is to prevent "trolling" and other undesired behaviors common on Internet forums.
The verification of numbers embedded in an image is also required to prevent spamming mechanisms.
Readers of the Decaturian/The Dec Online can now subscribe to an RSS feed of exclusive content, which can be viewed through an RSS reader such as that available in various Web browsers or through online services such as Google Reader. This feed is intended for private/personal use only. Any requests to display this information on another site should be directed to the online editor.
To display external links more easily, we have enabled Snap Shots, which will display a preview of the site within the same page. This feature is enabled by default. To disable this feature, you can choose Disable as shown below.
