The wind blew softly, pushing along gray clouds looming in the sky, threatening rain. People lined up in groups of twos and threes, looking around at the strangers in front of and behind them, sizing up their competition.

A woman wandered up and down the line handing out blue and pink sheets of paper and pencils to the newcomers. Everyone waited anxiously to get their chance at the big shot, to have their face seen on the silver screen.

Auditions for Matt Damon’s new movie, “The Informant,” were held April 19 at Regions Bank in downtown Decatur. The line of people auditioning wrapped around the building that morning.
